Positivity and belief have always been present in the world’s best leaders. We have all seen so many motivational business quotes such as Ford's "whether you think that you can, or that you can’t, you're probably right" but being so positive at times like these can be a challenge.

However, the reality is that no matter how difficult remaining totally positive is now, it has never been so important - and your employees, your colleagues and even your customers a relying on and craving your positive outlook.

There are several points I would make;

It’s a choice! - It’s important to be in control of your attitude and demeanour, no matter how tough yesterday was (very relevant now) you are in control of your attitude today. Whether it’s positive or not is a choice.

Your attitude dictates everything! - Lots of things play a part in our day to day decision making. Education, intelligence and life experience all play a big part, but all play second fiddle to attitude. A positive attitude is so important in challenging times, as it will ultimately determine your actions.

Often a team reflects their leaders’ attitude! - Think about the attitude and approach you would like your team to take towards the current situation. Considering teams often reflect their leader, if the approach you want to see is a positive and proactive one its important you lead from the front.

In situations such as the current pandemic, where teams across the globe have lost large elements of their structure and routine, they will look to their leader. The best leaders will be positive and continue to drive forward. Moving the obstacles to allow the light at the end of the tunnel to be seen.
