I had a great meeting with a new client in industrial technology this morning. We discussed many things, but one topic high on the agenda was diversity and inclusion.
So often it forms part of an organisation's agenda, but under further inspection it is often a dream, with no action being taken to truly affect change.
What I found so refreshing about our new client's attitude towards this problem was the proactive approach to bringing about change in their business. It got me thinking back to a TED Talk from Janet Stovall that I thought you might find interesting.
She talks about diversity and inclusion, but more importantly what can happen when "we all stop praying for change to happen, and moving our feet to make it happen"
Imagine a workplace where people of all colors and races are able to climb every rung of the corporate ladder -- and where the lessons we learn about diversity at work actually transform the things we do, think and say outside the office.
