After attending a number of food and drink trade shows over recent months it is certainly evident that food and drink manufacturing continues to inspire, grow and innovate, despite the doom and gloom in the market. I have also met a number of inspirational entrepreneurs over recent months as well.
With food and drink manufacturing being one of the largest employers in the UK it is important that the sector continues to be at the forefront of innovation.
Reading through some of the SME brands on the list it is great to see that some of these SME brands are already household names, such as Fever Tree, Brewdog, Pipers Crisps, as well as a number of own label providers that are continuing to form strong partnerships with the grocers.
Here's to more successful years ahead.....
Food and drink manufacturers have been recognised in a new report naming the most inspirational and fastest growing small and medium sized enterprises (SMEs) in Britain. A total of 27 food and drink producers were identified in this year’s London Stock Exchange (LSE) list of 1,000 Companies to Inspire Britain. The report identifies the fastest-growing and most “dynamic” small and medium businesses across the UK, with companies growing at 70% per year – up from 50% last year. Featured on this year’s list were pie maker Higgidy, ready meals manufacturer Charlie Bigham’s and crowdfunded brewer Brewdog.
