After two months of the government producing strategies is it a surprise that this has been regarded as one of the least eventful budgets (for the built environment) in recent times? A lack of change should create some short to midterm stability for the real estate industry. One exciting development is the focus on technical education and the introduction of T-Levels to address the productivity gap between the UK and our international competitors , this is most welcome, I have many conversations surrounding this topic and I really hope it’s a success. All this said it looks like it business as usual….for the time being!
There were several conspicuous absences, with no mention of housing, Brexit, trains, the environment, the North West, and only a passing reference to the Northern Powerhouse.
