With Theresa Mays reshuffle (some may refer to it as culling) firms in the north were understandably nervous of Osbornes legacy the Northern Powerhouse losing momentum, or in fact being scrapped altogether.
With so much manufacturing, it was also good to read May's intentions for the Midlands too. Other than Milton Keynes (my original homeland) the graph illustrates how the midlands and north is growing.
Theresa May has vowed to press ahead with George Osborne's "Northern Powerhouse" despite having fired him as chancellor. In a Yorkshire Post article, the prime minister promised to "help the great cities and towns of the North pool their strengths and take on the world". This includes backing a bid to bring cycling's world championships to Yorkshire. She also said she would make the Midlands an "engine for growth".
