Pev Manners talks through his success, disappointments and stories after 24 years of running his own business, Belvoir Drinks.
The business has grown well in recent years, especially through their export markets. He also discusses the continued importance of product innovation and bringing something new to their customers. Mistakes will be made, however, the entrepreneur in him will always ensure he has the drive to succeed.
What I also like is his honesty that he employs people that are better than him at certain things, ensuring he is able to continue to learn and develop. I hear this a lot and I believe that this is one of the main reasons that certain entrepreneurs succeed, rather than being self-centred.
Ever wondered what it takes to make a homegrown business a global phenomenon? Pev Manners shows us how it’s done Businesses can only go one way – up or down – so you need to go forwards and grow. Inventing and launching new products is wonderful, and our export market is hugely exciting at the moment. We’re now exporting to Shanghai, working with bars in Ibiza and Soho House in Barcelona – how cool is that! I don’t take any of the credit for this, but I do get a real sense of satisfaction when people tell me how much they enjoy our products.
