This week I attended the Food and Drink Expo at the NEC in Birmingham. I like to take the opportunity at industry events to sit and listen to some of the seminars and Q&A’s that are held, the topics of discussion often help me further develop my market understanding and provide insights that I can pass on to clients.
With Collingwood being an Executive Search and Leadership Development Consultancy, one that particularly talk caught my attention was Gaining and Retaining Talent in the Food Sector. The panel consisted of The Grocer’s Top New Talent winners from recent years and was led by The Grocer’s Editor Adam Leyland. The panel included a mix of young entrepreneurs, Retailers as well as FMCG companies, which included: Ben Mason, Founder of Mason Beans Adam Sopher, Co-Founder, and Director of Joe and Seph’s Popcorn Nicole Tallant – Buying Manager at Asda Kris Comerford – Category Director at Tesco Paddy Carmody – Senior Brand and Shopper Manager at Beiersdorf During the 45 minutes Q&A session the panel discussed and answered a number of interesting questions and gave their take on developing and supporting talent in the Food sector.
